Rollout Upgrade
A new integrated communications activities tracking tool – from issues to announcements to social media, the rollout tool offers our stakeholders a better coordination tool to help support product delivery and alignment across government.
The new technology infrastructure has been made more secure, modern and scalable. My development team was focused on building slim, single-function microservices with defined interfaces and operations. This allowed the team to create and deploy tools within a shorter development window.
Newsroom Modernization
The arrival of the COVID-19 to Ontario ignited an unprecedented appetite for news. The government have become newsmakers, providing reliable and timely updates to Ontarians throughout the crisis. Since the start of the pandemic, Newsroom has seen a 955% increase to average daily pageviews.
The surge in traffic coupled with the legacy infrastructure of Newsroom created technological challenges. My development team was tasked with finding innovative solutions to update Newsroom to ensure availability and implement a new caching solution to handle new “traffic norms”. The entire newsroom infrastructure was revamped, including a new content management system and subscriptions platform.
